Hours of Operation:
Monday: 11:30am – 6:00pm
Tuesday: 11:30am – 6:00pm
Wednesday: 11:30am – 6:00pm
Thursday: 11:30am – 6:00pm
Friday: 11:30am – 4:00pm
The 1280 Event Space, Patio, and The Grind are available for rental during the facility’s standard hours of operation (Monday to Thursday, 8:00 AM – 9:00 PM), unless otherwise specified. Events extending beyond 9:00 PM may be accommodated until 10:00 PM with prior approval from the restaurant manager and are subject to an after-hours fee of $50 per 30 minutes.
The various areas of the TwelvEighty venue are as follows:





Main Dining Room – The dining room seats 85 people comfortably in booths and tables.
Event Space- This area is a very large open space that can be used for mix and mingle events, or sit down dinners. This area seats 100-110 guests comfortably at tables, about 120-140 seated in rows for presentations (with good sight lines) or when used in conjunction with The Grind cafe itself,190 seated at tables and about 300 standing and dancing.

Events scheduled after 9:00 PM on weekdays, after 5:00 PM on Fridays, or anytime on Saturdays and Sundays carry a minimum food and beverage spend of $2,000 and may be subject to additional fees.

RENTALS
The venue rental fee includes use of the space, and access to some in-house furniture. Groups are responsible for set up, cleanliness and tear down of the rental space.
External catering and hot beverages are not permitted within the TwelvEighty spaces with the exception of individually packaged/labelled, shelf-stable, store-bought snacks (i.e. chips, juice, cookies, granola bars, soft drinks).
Individually packaged/labelled, local take-out for immediate consumption and local take-out pizza are permitted – If a group wishes to bring outside food into a rented space, it must be from a Foodsafe certified kitchen that adheres to all federal and Provincial Foodsafe standards. Any foods that do not meet these specifications will be removed.
CATERING
Number of Guests
A finalized number of guests must be established 8 business days prior to the event date. Catering quantities will be based on the finalized number of guests. You are responsible financially, within the 8 business days, for the finalized number of guests, regardless of event attendance.
Menu Selections
Once you have selected a menu from our suggested list of menus, the menu must be finalized at least 8 business days in advance to ensure we can provide the best service.
Changes/revisions made to your catering order less than eight business days prior to an event will result in a $25 fee. This includes the following:
- Guest count revisions
- Adding late dietary restrictions
- Adding or removing menu items
- Revising times, start time, end time
- Chartfield updates
- Any other details that were not confirmed by the deadline
To avoid multiple late fees, please send any or all changes at the same time
Any requests to make any revision to the contract 24 hours prior to the event will incur a fee of $200 if we are able to make the change. Please do not make changes on the day of the event.
A labour fee of $25 will be added to the final invoice for each of the following reasons:
- If staff members are required to stay if your event runs longer than stipulated on contract
- If you request that the rental space be set up by our staff prior to the event.
- If the event is not torn down, cleaned up and organized.
Cancellations
Should it be necessary to cancel your event, please inform catering as soon as possible. To avoid any charges, our office must be informed at least 8 full business days in advance of your function. (48 hours for coffee-only services)
Food Safety
TwelvEighty catering is committed to quality, adhering to all Federal and Provincial safe food handling guidelines. We ensure that hot and cold food items are kept within safe temperature ranges, in order to protect your health and prevent foodborne illness.
Food Allergies
It is your responsibility to alert us to any allergies or food sensitivities. TwelvEighty catering takes food allergies and sensitivities seriously.
Our staff is trained to instruct our food production staff on the severity of food allergies.
We make every effort to prevent cross-contamination and communicate information about allergens to customers. We review ingredient information, and priority allergens are identified based on ingredients only. While we work hard to prevent cross-contamination, there is always a risk in a large food service facility.
Please be advised that manufacturers of the commercial foods we use may potentially change the formulation or substitute at any time without notice. Customers concerned with food allergies need to be aware of this risk.
