McMaster students continue to experience profound grief and pain. Many have lost friends and family members in Palestine and Israel, and the immediate future remains uncertain. In addition, students have reported a rise in anti-Semitism, Islamophobia, and anti-Palestinian and anti-Israeli racism both on campus and internationally. Students have called upon their student government to address these concerns and represent their voices.
This resolution is the outcome of consultations with various student groups and MSU clubs, reflecting input from a wide range of perspectives. Among its key provisions, the SRA reiterates its commitment to condemning racism and hate speech in all forms, endorsing a campus culture of inclusion and safety, and fostering peaceful events, dialogue, and discourse on campus.
